ENTERING THE RACEWAY

Heading to Watkins Glen International for an unforgettable NASCAR weekend? Whether it's your first time at the track or you're a returning fan, it's always good to be prepared. From entry procedures to what you can (and can't) bring, a little planning can make a big difference in how smoothly your day goes. Below are some key things to keep in mind as you get ready for race day:

Bag check

Security checks are in place at all entrances, so be prepared to have your bags and personal items inspected. It’s important to review the official list of allowed and restricted items before you head to the track – this includes things like team gear, snacks, and beverages. To avoid delays or issues, leave anything questionable at home. Items that aren’t permitted will be confiscated and won’t be returned. In more serious cases, entry could be denied or future attendance rights revoked.

Tickets & entry

You’ll need a valid ticket to enter the venue. Saving your ticket to your phone is the most convenient option, but having a printed backup is a smart move just in case there are connectivity issues. Entry lines can move quickly, and in many cases, staff may only scan tickets when necessary.

Buying your ticket online is quick and easy – and it’s the best way to secure your preferred section. Options usually include reserved grandstand seating, general admission, or open seating in natural viewing areas. Keep in mind that popular categories can sell out, so it’s best not to wait too long.

Parking at Watkins Glen International – NASCAR weekend

General admission parking is available at no cost and is located just outside the main gates. Upon arrival, event staff will guide you to a designated spot, and complimentary shuttle services are provided to help you reach various parts of the venue.

Please note that overnight parking in general lots is not permitted unless specifically authorized. If you need to leave your vehicle overnight, you must purchase an Overnight Parking Permit in advance. This permit only allows vehicle parking–camping setups, such as tents or awnings, next to your car, are not permitted.

For fans seeking infield access, a separate infield parking pass is required. These passes must be bought ahead of time online and may also require credentials or approval from track officials.
